  Yes!! We would recommend this cabin and and we will be back. we brought horses, the barn was very nice,clean,and convenient to the cabin. we had 2 20 foot trailers and didnt have any troubles. saw two bears riding the trails. AWESOME! Thanks Keith and Cathy for your hospitality.

  We LOVED our stay at Mountain Shade! The inside of the cabin was nicely decorated. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 adults and 2 little ones. We enjoyed the fire pit and swings for the children. Although we don't have horses, they have a beautiful barn. The location couldn't be better. It is centrally located and just a short drive to Cades Cove or jump over the mountain via Wears Valley to Pigeon Forge. I will DEFINITELY be staying in this cabin again!!

  It was a great place to stay. Last year we were in a more crowded area and we really did appreciate being able to get away from the crowd this year. The reasons I'm not giving 5 stars - There were 3 beds. For a cabin that is listed to sleep 8, we would have like to have seen some twin beds in the bed rooms. A hot tube would have been a great addition. The ceiling in the master bedroom had a water stain. It was a small area and should have been painted when the repair was made. Over all a great cabin and I think with just a few changes it'll be the best.

  Management Response: Thank you for staying with us Dakota and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. This cabin does sleep 8 as it has a sofa sleeper in the living room. The owner is considering putting a bunk bed in the downstairs bedroom as well. The ceiling is slated for painting in between the next stay.

  This place was awesome from the moment we got here. We came with a motorcycle trailer and three motorcycles and we had room for us all to park and it was a paved Road. Yes it is a little steep and windy and tight corners but we made it just fine and enjoyed it thoroughly. There is a garage to put the bikes in as well. We loved that it was quiet and secluded and on the quiet side of the Mountain which is exactly where we wanted to be. We had five people and we had plenty of room and enjoyed the space immensely. The place was very very clean and I appreciate clean a lot. You can tell they take pride in this place and the work shows. The kitchen is well stocked we were able to make every meal here without having to go out to expensive dinners. The grill was very clean and we appreciated having it right outside our door on the upper deck to grill are evening meals. If I had a question or concern the office was quick to respond it was very easy to leave the place locked and get it unlocked with a code given. The beds are comfortable but they are not high end quality but that is okay and it was not expected. We slept well and we are enjoying ourselves still as this is our third night here and I don't want to leave I love it that much. There are plenty of towels for everyone and there are garbage bags applied and dish soap and there was even a coffee pot and filters and coffee if needed. We happen to bring our own Keurig because we like a variety of coffees. The water is drinkable from the filter on the fridge. Again I would not hesitate to stay here again every single one of us loved it. We loved it the location and the cabin it self. Thank you and we will be back.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain shade. We had five people and we had plenty of room the whole 6days we were there. We were on motorcycles and we had three motorcycles in a 14 foot trailer and we had plenty a room to park the trailer and also a garage to put the bikes in which was a great feature in choosing this cabin. The cabin was very clean and I appreciate a clean place to stay very much! The bedrooms are large and the beds Were queen size. The beds are not high end Quality but that was not expected and we all slept well . The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals every night. We used the grill on the outdoor deck every night for dinner. The grill is clean and the deck is a great place to hang out in the evening and morning. We loved the location of the cabin it is perfect for riding many routes on our motorcycle.It is right down the road from the Tuckaleechee caverns and I highly suggest going to see them. I would highly recommend this cabin and we would definitely stay in the future.

  Perfect cabin for three couples and motorcycle riders. Garage to store bikes at night. Just far enough from main attractions and close enough to get to them. On a beautiful mountain! Would highly recommend this cabin.

  We had three sisters and there husbands staying 7 nights. We all had plenty of room to move around. Rooms are very large and comfortable. We all had our own bathrooms where we all could get ready. The room downstairs had extra beds that we did not even use. Kitchen had all the utensils that you need to fix meals. Highly recommend this place.

  The cabin was absolutely wonderful--big enough that no one in the family was tripping over one another, but not so big that I couldn't find one of the teenagers when he or she disappeared. The location was absolutely breathtaking, and I'm sure would be quite the site in the summer and fall! I liked how accessible it was to Maryville, Tennessee, as I was able to easily do some Christmas shopping while also avoiding the congestion of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg proper. Overall, I was very happy with my booking experience--the site is very easy to book through, the staff is friendly, and my stay was awesome! I will absolutely book through this company in the future, and I will urge my family and friends to do so as well.

  The cabin was very nice, but there is always room for improvement. The location is beautiful, out of the way. We loved how close it was to cades cove. We took the unimproved gravel road midway in cades cove and followed road back to cabin. Awesome.

  The cabin was great. Very minor issues, but nothing worth writing about. The water hot water is wonderful!! The location is great. Away from the crowds, but an easy drive if wanting to go to the tourist area

  I loved the cabin ! It is nice and peaceful and quiet and roomy and has the best towels ever and plenty of them! It is also convenient to Townsend! My family’s stay at mountain shade was absolutely wonderful! Y’all did a great job and the entire transaction was easy as pie! I’m gonna stay with y’all next year , probably in the same cabin! Thanks my family had the best time!

  The cabin was well cleaned & managed. It had every thing we needed, we barely had to go into our extra supplies that we brought. We loved the location and that there was barely any traffic near us.

  It was great only a few Cabins in the area not a lot of place to Hike though a lot of private property around it had a beautiful view for a white Christmas. Has a little wear and tear but gives it more of the cabin feel. We had a great time.

  Beautiful house, and surroundings. House was very clean when we arrived, and has pretty much everything you need. Smoky Cabins rental was easy to work with. This was our second time staying here. It won’t be our last. Perfect house for a group of 6.

  Cabin was exactly as described and had everything we needed. The only negative comment I have is that a neighboring barn holds guinea hens that can get quite loud, but never loud enough to disturb us while indoors.

  The cabin is just as listed on the site. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very easy to find and get to and it was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty enough towels, washcloths and toiletries. I will definitely book with them again.

  Had a very nice stay, cabin was nice, clean, and well well kept. It was easy to get to the surrounding areas. The cabin was well stocked with linens, towels, etc. Showers were small, not a lot of room in them. We Enjoyed our stay!

  Mountain Shade was a great cabin for the five of us. Good/responsive communications with the mgrs. The bed and bath linens were very nice/plentiful. The soap, tp, dish detergent, trash bags provided were sufficient for the entire week. There's ample parking for 3-4 or more vehicles. Suggest you arrive in the daylight otherwise it can be hard to find the 1st time. GPS tells you you're there, but it's at the back of the property. You need to continue around another sharp curve and go to the 2nd driveway to be at the front. It was very difficult to find on a dark, rainy night, even with the directions provided. Showers were all on the smaller size, but avg size folks shouldn't have a problem; however, the heads don't seem to adjust. Bring your own blowdryer. No curtains in the main bedroom so plenty of morning light comes in. We had a couple of issues for mgt to address, which they did right away, with one being more successfully resolved than the other. We would stay here again on a future visit and recommend to others.

  Wonderful place! Super clean and comfortable. Downstairs room with bunk beds great for kids! Kitchen stocked very well. Master bedroom windows don’t have curtains so might want to bring eye masks, worked great! Perfect vacation cabin, we’ll be back!

  The cabin was a good size for 3 couples. The kitchen was well stocked except for silver ware. It was very clean and had plenty of bath towels and plenty of closets. Kitchen had a large pantry to put your food in and a large refrigerator.

  Family trip! We don’t get to see our daughter, son in law and granddaughters from NC near enough so I booked the cabin so we could enjoy them and to get the cousins together! The cabin was idea for our family! We took a queen air mattress so no one had to sleep on the sleeper sofa! We put it downstairs in the room with the queen bed and bunks! The room still had plenty of room to move around. The kitchen had just enough room for two people to cook in without running into each other! Living room was large enough for all of us to congregate. We had an issue with downstairs shower but when I call the management they were there within 10 minutes to correct the problem! Past complaints were the two showers being small and yes they were tight, but they did the job! My complaint was the faucets weren’t user friendly along with the kitchen faucet! This is a place I will return to and tell others to use! Thank you for opening your home to my family!

  This is our second time staying at this cabin. It works well for our group. The beds are comfy, there are plenty of towels and "starter" supplies for most of the week. The managers are responsive to any issues that arise and are prompt and clear in all communications. There are several hairpin curves getting there and large dump trucks are currently working in the area (July 2023) so slow down and use caution on the road. Ample parking for 3-5 larger vehicles. Garage is available to use, but no remote. We used it for storing our supplies. Sure beats hauling everything up and down the steps,

  My family and friends love to visit this cabin! Its spacious and located in a great area, remote but not to far away. The visit in June '24 was our second stay here. We loved the garage space for our motorcycles. The interior is clean and comfortable. Lots of sleeping spaces. We will be returning to Mountain Shade in the future.

  Everything was great! We enjoyed our stay so much!! The cabin is so cute and is in such a quiet area! The GPS took us right to it, and there is a sign on the cabin. We couldn't see the sign from the street due to coming in very late, but we saw it as we turned in. We would love to stay here again!

  Mountain Shade is a perfect place to stay for some much needed time away. The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you would possibly need. It is so relaxing sitting on the back deck and so quiet. It is our go to cabin when coming to the Smokys.
